How to make a big ring fit a small finger?

I recently found a BEAUTIFUL ring an ex gave me forever ago and realized why i never worn it because my fingers are so slim it just falls off every one. Are there any at home to dos to make it fit? i heard layers of clear nail polish help or tape has anyone had any luck with that? id rather hear from those who have actually had success than risk messing up this (expensive) ring. How to make a big ring fit a small finger?
i know you're asking for home remedies... but if it's a really expensive and special ring, why not bring it to a jeweler and see how much they would charge you to have it re-sized?

they will do a professional and beautiful job without damaging the ring....by heating the metal and re-shaping it to the proper size.

i've had this done for a few rings myself, and i dont remember it being too expensive.

good luck! How to make a big ring fit a small finger?
I have used cello tape on the inside of the ring, but it wears away.

Here's a good link- use a cloth bandaid.

Get it resized.
The best and only way is to take it to a jeweler repair man, they will make it smaller probably by removing a piece and welding it back together or probably with heat (flame). I used them before to enlarge or reduce my wife's and kids rings. Good Luck.
just wrap layers of tape around the bottom of the ring so that the tape is not visible. i did it for some time until i had time to get it re-sized. (:
I wrapped a waterproof ban-aid around mines. It feels more comfortable than tape and if you wash your hands, it won't begin to peel off.
wow ,for 2 points
sorry
